ODESSA, Texas — An AMBER Alert issued for 11-month-old Maverick Young has been resolved after the infant was located safely in Arkansas, according to the Ector County Sheriff’s Office.
The alert was issued after investigators determined Maverick was believed to have been abducted in connection with a child custody dispute. Authorities said the child was supposed to be dropped off at his father’s home in Arkansas but never arrived, prompting the investigation and activation of the statewide AMBER Alert.
Investigators identified 20-year-old Tinley Young as the suspected abductor and said a kidnapping charge had been filed. Maverick was last reported to have been seen in the 7000 block of West Westmoor Road in Odessa.
According to the Ector County Sheriff’s Office, both Maverick and the suspect were found during a traffic stop in Arkansas. The child was recovered safely, and the AMBER Alert has since been canceled.
The investigation remains ongoing as authorities continue to review the circumstances surrounding the custody dispute and the events leading to the child’s disappearance. Additional information, including any court proceedings or further charges, is expected to be released as the case progresses.
