MUSKEGON, Mich. — Isaiah Kooiman, 22, died in a tragic single-vehicle rollover crash during the early morning hours of Thursday, July 2, in rural Muskegon County. His sudden passing has left family, friends, and the local community mourning the loss of a young life taken far too soon.
According to the Muskegon County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded shortly after midnight to reports of a serious crash along East River Road between Ewing Road and Holton-Duck Lake Road in Cedar Creek Township.
When first responders arrived, they discovered a heavily damaged pickup truck near a curve in the roadway. Investigators determined that the vehicle had left the road for reasons that remain under investigation before rolling over multiple times.
Isaiah Kooiman was identified as the driver and sole occupant of the pickup truck. Emergency personnel responded to the scene, but he was pronounced dead at the location after suffering fatal injuries in the crash.
