Authorities responded to a serious officer-involved shooting in Beech Grove, Indiana, after a domestic disturbance call escalated into gunfire.
According to official reports, two Beech Grove police officers were shot after arriving at a residence in the 100 block of Diplomat Court. Both officers were transported to hospital for emergency treatment. One officer, identified as Officer Brian Elliott, later died from his injuries. The second officer survived and was reported to be in stable condition.
Following the shooting, a large multi-agency manhunt was launched across the Indianapolis area. A Blue Alert was issued as law enforcement searched for the suspect, who had fled the scene. Authorities later identified and arrested 47-year-old Kenneth Terrell Johnson without further incident.
Investigators have since opened a full case review into the shooting. That includes reconstructing the timeline of events, analyzing witness statements, reviewing communications tied to the original disturbance call, and examining forensic evidence from the scene. Johnson has been charged with murder and additional felony offenses.

Residents were urged to remain cautious during the active manhunt and to rely on verified updates from police rather than unconfirmed reports circulating online.
