Officer Jacob Clark of the Chesterfield County Police Department is reported to be recovering at home after surviving a serious shooting incident that occurred in May during a domestic-related emergency response.
According to official updates, the incident took place on May 31 at a residence on Gumfork Place in Chesterfield County, Virginia, where officers responded to reports of an armed individual firing weapons inside a home. When officers entered the scene, they were met with gunfire. Both Officer Clark and Officer Jacob Wells were struck during the exchange, and a police K-9 was also killed.
Clark sustained multiple gunshot wounds and required extensive medical treatment, including surgeries and a prolonged hospital stay. Authorities report that he has since shown steady improvement and has now been discharged, continuing his recovery at home with family support.
