APPLE VALLEY, California — July 2, 2026 — Family, friends, and the Apple Valley community are mourning the tragic loss of Lorena Lopez, a 33-year-old mother who died along with her unborn twins following a two-vehicle collision in San Bernardino County.
According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, the crash occurred on June 27 near the intersection of Wichita Road and Zuni Road in Apple Valley. Investigators said Lopez was driving with her two young children when another vehicle allegedly failed to stop at a stop sign and collided with her vehicle.
Authorities confirmed that Lorena Lopez, who was pregnant with twins, was pronounced dead at the scene. Her unborn babies also died as a result of the crash.
Lopez’s two young children, who were passengers in the vehicle, sustained injuries and were transported to a regional trauma center for treatment. Officials have not released updates on their conditions, and they remain under medical care.
