Motorcyclist Killed in La Puente Crash Involving Van; Two Others Hospitalized

LA PUENTE, California — July 2, 2026 — A motorcyclist was killed early Thursday morning following a collision with a van at a La Puente intersection, according to Los Angeles County authorities. Two occupants of the van were also hospitalized, and the crash remains under investigation.

The collision occurred shortly before 6:00 a.m. at the intersection of Amar Road and Evanwood Avenue. Emergency crews responded to reports of a serious crash and found a motorcycle and a van that had collided.

According to the Los Angeles County Fire Department, the van was carrying at least four occupants. Two people inside the van were transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. Officials have not released information about the extent of their injuries.

The motorcyclist sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department has not yet released the victim’s identity pending notification of next of kin.

Following the crash, emergency personnel secured the area while investigators documented the scene. Both the motorcycle and the van were later removed by tow crews, and Amar Road was closed in both directions for several blocks, causing significant traffic delays during the morning commute.

Authorities also confirmed that an undercover law enforcement vehicle was reportedly in the vicinity while officers were serving a search warrant at the time of the collision. However, officials have not confirmed that the vehicle was involved in the crash, and its connection to the incident, if any, remains under investigation.

Investigators are working to determine the circumstances that led to the collision, including the movements of the vehicles, roadway conditions, and any other contributing factors. No determination regarding fault has been announced.
